Sofia Stolberg: 10 years ago, there was probably one VC in town, right? The terms perhaps for entrepreneurs weren’t as favorable. It was difficult to raise capital on the island. The biggest transformation that our ecosystem has created in these past 10 years has precise. Been that access to capital because the entrepreneurship ecosystem players and support organizations have supported the growth of these entrepreneurs, and there has been more world-class accelerators and programming that have attracted more investors.
It has become easier to raise capital here.
Hector Jirau: They seen. That our loss are very friendly, are very similar to those in Delaware, which is the golden standard, and thus the accessibility and flexibility to conduct this type of investment. It’s more accessible for, in addition to that, bring the incentives to it and it creates a more risk averse or less risky approach to actually jumping into this type of investment, which is investing in early stage companies.
Back in the day, the appetite wasn’t there, but now it has been growing and growing more and more every year. And the parallel theme, that’s one of the things that we are continuously working to improve and to create more access to capital companies from Puerto Rico and those that. Trust in Puerto Rico for into the business.
Taylor Tondelli: What I like about these incentives is they are encouraging et Puerto Rico products, things being made on the island, and that’s one of the things that helped us get a start here specifically. They give certain tax benefits, but also reimbursement on purchasing of machinery and equipment. So to start a manufacturing operation is quite capital intensive, so it makes it easier for a company to start here.
